Business Development Manager
Location: Nairobi, Biashara Street.
Purpose of the Job:
Reporting to the Management Committee, the job holder will be responsible for day to day SACCO operations including; timely preparation and submission of financial reports to facilitate effective decision making by stakeholders (management committee, supervisory committee and members); ensuring sound financial/accounting policies, procedures and controls to ensure prudent management; and control of financial resources.

Job Description
Perspective % Weighting Output
Business Strategy 70% 1. Acquisition and onboarding of new clients to the SACCO
2. Marketing of the SACCO to potential clients.
3. Directing and supervising the administration and processing of loans and maintenance of accurate records on the same.
4. Debt management.
5. Product development and product review.
6. Spearhead business development initiatives that are consistent with the sacco’s overall strategy.
7. Revenue generation and strategic partnerships development and management.
8. Overseeing the effective administrating of staff performance.
9. Representing the SACCO in business transactions and any other transactions authorized by the management committee.
10. Co-ordinate and maintain cash limits at manageable levels to ensure smooth flow of operations at all times
11. Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Process and Operations 20% 1. Supervise the SACCO activities to ensure efficiency and effectiveness in the utilization of SACCO assets.
2. Ensure high level of member service to ensure members loyalty and retention.
3. Preparing proposals and presentations.
4. Formulating and reviewing policies, procedures and practices for the SACCO operations
5. Attending management committee meetings and AGM in an advisory capacity and implementing the resolutions made
6. Prepare and present timely and accurate monthly management reports
7. Preparing and analyzing on a quarterly basis the SACCO’s Strategic Business Plans and annual budgets.
Compliance and Audit 10% 1. Liaison with the Commissioner of Cooperatives and other Government departments
2. Coordinating external audit exercises and implementing recommendations set forth.
3. Communicating credit policy and other procedure manuals and ensuring adherence to the same by different stakeholders
Knowledge; Skills and Experience required for this Role
• A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Marketing or other related fields.
• CPA (K) is an added advantage.
• At least 5 years work experience in SACCOs.
• At least minimum of 2yrs experience in a management position at a reputable SACCO.
• Negotiation skills.
